Thank you for your interest in shipping our babies!!

***The only legal way to ship a hedgehog is via air cargo. You can expect shipping to range between $200 and $300, price can vary

Due to many requests from my customers, I did some research on shipping and now can start shipping to anyone in the United states. For those who want to ship to other countres, I will have to research more on that. See if this will work for you...
Booking flights can be quite a challenge due to the time spent on the phone with the airlines and then relaying all the shipping information to you for your approval. This is where we need YOUR help. You will need to book the flight, as we will be unable to do that for you.

Here's what we need YOU to do:
 1. We very much prefer to ship with Continental or United Flight Cargo since this airline guarantees the animals will be kept in climate controlled area. Call a United Flight Airline 1-800-575-3335 and see if there is a United Flight to the airport nearest you. There is a good chance you will have to wait on hold for a half hour or more. They take great care of animals but booking the flight is a challenge. The best times to make calls are early in the morning or late at night.. I suggest that if at all possible do not choose the flight that hedgehog will have to change planes. There are very few direct flights so please consider to plan ahead. If direct flight doesn't work for you please consider layover times while booking your flight if your hedgehog has to change planes. One thing to consider is how long the layover is between flights. I recommend at least an hour if not longer layover. I also suggest that if at all possible do not choose the last flight for the day to the final destination. That way, if a connecting flight is missed then there is still another flight for the day.

 2. If there is a flight that works for you, book the flight using the following information:

Oksana Eden
 our address
 Caldwell, ID.83605
 goodnaturedhedgehogs@gmail.com
 208-577-8600

I will be shipping using a SMALL dog/cat carrier and the total weight will be under nine pounds The hedgehog weight about 1lbs.food 2lbs or less.
Be sure to find out WHERE to pick up your hedgehog. Some carriers have a cargo department at the airport close to where you check in baggage for that airline and other airports have an off sight cargo department.

3.Write down the flight numbers and the shipping rate. There may be a range in price. You will pay the higher rate and if the cost is lower we can refund that amount.

4.Email us at goodnaturedhedgehogs@gmail.com the flight information and we will send you an invoice which will include:
   Cost of the animal
   Cost of the flight
Cost of the carrier - $25
   One bag of food $5
One snuggling bag for comfort during the flight $8
 Shipping Warmer-$30
 Health certificate-$60

Before we ship you your baby, we'll send you a video of us handling your baby. If for some reason, you are unsatisfied with your baby, you will be able to pick from any other available baby we have.

                                                           Ship at Your Own Risk
Shipping animals is something that airlines do every day. We have recommended United for their proven track record. However, accidents happen and animals may perish either during the flight or as a result of trauma (usually heat or cold related) during the flight. Good Natured Hedgehogs is not responsible for the health of your animal beyond our standard health guarantee. At Good Natured Hedgehogs we take great pride in the health and well being of our animals. We promise that we will not ship any animal that does not meet our high quality standards. We are required by the flight agency to obtain a health certificate from a veterinarian within 10 days of the shipping day, so we need you to inform us of the shipping date atleast one week in advance.
We suggest finding out the airline's policy on animal trauma due to temperature and never sign for the shipment until you have inspected the animal.

Check with your airline if they offer shipping insurance and you might also consider purchasing insurance from your homeowners insurance company for the cost of the animals plus the flight should something happen during the flight.
